Yup. In EC Unimold preview video, they use easylease then 2 coats of wax on their bonnet plug.

In theory it should be possible and indeed its done with subsequent wax coats in the vid. However it had slipped my mind that quite a while ago paul told me that it is very hostile to the resin in a sense that it causes it to run off and pool.
I was making a mold and on the highly recessed areas, the gelcoat was super thin.. so thin it broke through in parts when it was done. when making moulds I will stick to pva, or apply a very light coat of epoxy gelcoat and then subsequent layers of gelcoat on that before applying reinforcement.
cheers

wax on top of the easylease should stop the gelcoat running off so much.

Ill be using my mold tomorrow that had to redo and not sure what to do with regards to releasing it as my pva just beads off the wax.

Hi,
When making a mold, i just use wax and never PVA. But wax amount is at around 10 coats. I never ever had a problem releasing mold from plug.
I always felt that PVA could not be polished so it would leave inprints on the mold, thats why i dont use that.
I dont say thats the right way to proceed, but I never had a problem.
