Hi,
I'm new to composites and have a few projects that I would like to undertake. Two of these are the production of items that have a shaped high density PU foam core which is then laminated with CF on all/both sides such as the item below (dinghy rudder with an aerofoil section)
As there is no mold I was wondering if it would be possible to completely laminate the foam core (i.e. both sides at once) using resin infusion or whether RI could only be used with molds?
Thanks in advance for any information.

I once used Resin infusion to impregnate carbon onto the roof of my car, then sanded and laquered it to a nice finish... you can also use a special skinning kit which may stick better to the foam core.
In my parts I actually use a type of foam core within the process, its called soric and I use 2-3mm soric core sandwiched in carbon which is very strong and light.
