I'm planning to make motorcycle trousers out of kevlar fabric but am not sure what I should choose. The plan is to make a pair of trousers out of kevlar, rather than making them from normal fabric and reinforcing the knees, hips and bum. There is so much choice here and I am spoiled for choice! Can anyone let me know which fabric would be best for making a garment?

You are best looking at the fabrics within our KevlarProtective Textiles range of products.

You would be looking at a multi layer garment as raw kevlar would unlikely give you the external finish wanted in most motorbike clothes.

Depending on your design you could be using a combination of the textile materials above in different places of the garment.

Be aware that motorbike clothing manufacturers often put thier garments through extensive R&D and testing to get the desired performance so you need to be careful to ensure you have adequate protection and arent making a garment that may fail causing you more injurys than otherwise with a tested bit of kit.
