@TomDesign ...

I'm just voicing my opinion about what I see in the video... to me it looks like they do it the way I have seen it done in other shops that do a lot of skinning.

I.e:  wet out some CF cloth with polyester ... wrap it on - tape / shrink-tape - cure - pull off tape, grind , clear coat liberally with 2-comp clear coat, grind, sand down and polish --- done --- Cool

what is this any link or information?

What looks like resin in one part of the presentation, is in fact 2-comp clear PU coat... put it on very liberally ,and grind and sand and polish it afterwards.

This is a promotional video, made by an advertising bureau ... They have cut and mixed up their takes from the manufacturing, and are not showing them in the correct sequence.

What looks like resin in one part of the presentation, is in fact 2-comp clear PU coat... put it on very liberally ,and grind and sand and polish it afterwards.

This surface is very resistant to most chemicals (as advertised) and also fire-retardant and can withstand burning a thin coat of alcohol or petroleum on the surface... nothing special in that...

Looks to me like they do most of it as skinning and thick layers of PU coat ... = cosmetic parts "made with genuine Carbon fibre"Hehe

Some Very biased claims in that video trying to trick people!

As above, it looks like it will be shrink wrap or just release film they are wrapping round it to ensure the fabric contours to the shapes

I don't think they are putting resin on the tape ,the way the vid is made gives the impression that they are taping it up then hitting it with resin
the tape looks like a heat shrink tape

Hi all friends

just looked at robson design carbon wrap promo video i dont get why they lay resin on clear tape on top then sand with wet paper and clear coat? any idea?

how carbon surface can not be burned on their parts and why chemical resistance?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Rg7f9EaXpoA

Please look at this video he tape part and seems parts no resin then he lay clear tape and see on video when he lay resin tape clear under resin then only cut and wet sanding and etc.
