Ok, this is just an idea.
Epoxy will begin to soften at a temperature above that at which it cured. So lets say the epoxy was cured at 22 degrees C. If exposed to temperatures above that it will begin to soften again. You then apply polyester resin on top of the epoxy, you take the part indoors 24 degrees C, the polyester starts to cure. Most polyester resins reach temps of 60 degrees C once the chemical reaction kicks in. This would cause the epoxy to soften and react with the polyester. Just an idea?

Not sure why you want to put polyester over epoxy? Why mix the types of resin being used.
( By the way how are you? good I hope.)

with epoxy it is VERY VERY IMPORTANT to mix it thoroughly. otherwise it will never cure.
i have a piece near two years old that is hard and dry, but if you warm it in your hands or take out in the sun, it
gets ssoft and flexy. i did not mix it completely. mix for 5 minutes in a mix cup, and then pour into a 2nd mix cup and mix some more.
scrape the sides and bottom and change mixing sticks and be sure you have it mixed.
good luck
