Its an aluminum dust cover for wheels. I have been doing some research since I posted this and found some prepreg that can be stored at 75F or less and still work. The instructions on the prepreg say you don't need an autoclave, and can get by with just an oven. I was thinking of ordering some and trying to make this part off the back of it and see how it works out.

I made a post on another account which has subsequently been deleted, not sure if you managed to read it or not so i will post something similar. For perfectly round things i would really suggest using a lathe. Not sure of the size of what it as (as we don't actually know what it is, to me look s like a car tax disc holder, but i could be wrong
) but maybe a smaller hobby size or a wood lathe would suffice. If it was me i would make the carbon deliberately bigger in diameter, mark the actual size with a removable marker (i like liquid tip-ex with carbon as it can be rubbed off easy) allow the tipex to fully dry first i made this mistake of switching the lathe on with wet tipex and covering myself, the machine, and the work. The tipex should be really visible when the work is spinning in the machine and then just sand it down using paper to get the desired size. This will keep it perfectly round (providing it is in the lathe directly on centre). You will need to re-seal the edge, but there is info on this somewhere on the forum.
Hope this helps
Alex

I need some advice. What would be the best way to make the below product out of carbon fiber? It needs to be perfectly round. I'm not sure you can make this perfectly round just using a dremel tool or something like it or am I missing something? Also, would you make this from a mould or would you make it off the back of this part? I think I prefer a mould but would like some other opinions. Also, should it be vacuum infused, or just wet lay up with vacuum bagging?
