So, I have had a crazy idea. I have found a splitter that I would like to fit to my car. However, I am hoping to modify it so that the measurements make it look like a more factory fit part, which would then mean cutting and sticking it back together... It was at this point that I though I could make all my alterations and use my frankensplitter as a pattern, from which to make a mould and thus have a CF splitter to fit.

The reason for my post is that I am unsure of how easy this task would be. I am fine with the alterations etc I need to make as being a vehicle body repairer, its what i do. But, as for the best processes etc to use on the CF manufacturing side of it... I am feeling a bit lost. I have looked at the kits on here and read a number of other posts and projects.

I have kind of decided that resin infusion is probably my best bet.

Here is a picture of the uncut splitter I intend on using. 



The shape will be almost exactly the same but the centre section needs to be wider in order to match up to my cars grille.

Is this too much for a first project? Is it even possible? Any tips etc would be appreciated before I begin spending money.
