i like big heavy collision jobs....

i think i'd get some mdf strips, shape them and make something that would fit to the bottom of your bumper perfect rather than cutting up some plastic and trying to make it fit

hey !! a fellow auto repairer!
i do collision repairs here in the US.
is that part attached by tabs with an edge that locks in place when installed?
i think you need to address how your part will be attached.
screws?rivets?adhesives?

eh i think this will be like those big heavy collision jobs we all dread LOL
i think cut the middle, and temp mount it and then measure how much the gap is. then find some way to mount it
while you work it and final shape it. with two short sections they will be weak as you handle it and fit it once again.
3M 8115 Panel Bond is a fantastic product. use it and bumper repair screen to make the new section and blend the repairs beyond the cuts
so you can handle it with out breakage.
8115 can be sanded after curing, and use a sander of some type to speed up the process. just say NO to hand sanding LOL
and use your normal bumper repair materials for the final . sand and refinish as needed.
i suggest making the plug you just made facing up for the mold/shell orientation.
trim out the ends so there is no overhang to interfere with release from the mold/shell. maybe cut the ends of the tabs with the retaining lip to facilitate
mold/shell removal as well.
the part is small and i am unsure how to add the edging to it (as in the bonnet/hood video), as there is not much area for the adhesive to hold to for the edging.
this is as far as i can go LOL till i wrap my mind around what to do for the edging and how to make it stick.

So, I have had a crazy idea. I have found a splitter that I would like to fit to my car. However, I am hoping to modify it so that the measurements make it look like a more factory fit part, which would then mean cutting and sticking it back together... It was at this point that I though I could make all my alterations and use my frankensplitter as a pattern, from which to make a mould and thus have a CF splitter to fit.

The reason for my post is that I am unsure of how easy this task would be. I am fine with the alterations etc I need to make as being a vehicle body repairer, its what i do. But, as for the best processes etc to use on the CF manufacturing side of it... I am feeling a bit lost. I have looked at the kits on here and read a number of other posts and projects.

I have kind of decided that resin infusion is probably my best bet.

Here is a picture of the uncut splitter I intend on using.

The shape will be almost exactly the same but the centre section needs to be wider in order to match up to my cars grille.

Is this too much for a first project? Is it even possible? Any tips etc would be appreciated before I begin spending money.
