Hello,

I'd like to find a product that results in a fairly porous cured epoxy. The objective being for the cured resin product to absorb (to some degree) liquid paraffin wax.
Is anyone aware of a resin system that ends up being (macro)porous? Or and additive that would increase porosity?

Thanks,
Pete

It is somewhat the opposite of what most resins will be designed to do, so I can't say I know of any. I have heard of sugar being added to resin and then washed out with water in order to create quite a porous substrate, but I don't actually know if that would work for what you need.

There are foaming additives for epoxys. However, they result in closed porosity.
