Hello Ladys and Gents,

I'm Raph and this is my first post!
I started getting into RTM/VRTM half a year ago as an effort to find ways to produce more sophisticated handbags with flexible flax based laminates.
So far im quite happy how I've made my way into this field without much prior knowledge and my initial prototypes came out quite well.
Now I've definitely come to a point where youtube and diy-guides can't help me, and i need some insight from the pros.
So hear me out if you will:

I'm looking for a way to seal of certain sections of my textiles, so the resin wont be able to infuse that section... A sort of resin barrier within the part if you will. I am looking into this for mostly aesthetic reasons, like having flax-fiber fringes on the sides of my part, an being able to use different bonding methods onto the raw  textile.
I did some baseline tests with standard paraffin wax, wich did somewhat work but was a pain to remove afterwards. Next i will try a water soluble alginate, although i fear my resin will bond to it too well.
I have heard of water soluble wax for core molds, but its quite expensive for serial production and hard to find where Im from (Austria).

But after all, Im thinking that this can't be a unique problem and someone must have already come up with a solution to this... only i haven't heard of it. Have you?

Looking forward to your replies and a blessed weekend to everyone!

Cheers,

Raph.
