Hi
I have just started a kayak restoration project. The initial plan was just to patch the carbon kevlar hull following the tutorial in the EC video on YouTube (simples!). However as I started prepping the hull, sanding the damaged areas bottom of the boat and marking up the damage it became obvious I may as well just re-skin the whole hull.
Questions I have? - Should I patch the damaged individually, or will the outer skin do this effectively on its own? - Will the EL2 Epoxy Laminating Resin 500g SLOW be enough to do the bottom hull and re-tape the seam? - What will give me the easiest and best finish on the hull - release film or peel ply?
Once I have done the bottom of the boat, I can then start on the decks, where the original gold glitter deck has become faded and matt, But that will start a host of more questions no doubt.
Kind regards
James
