Hi everyone, trying to get my hands on some chemical release agent in aus, have tried buying from over seas but as we all know you cant send dangerous goods to aus from the uk etc, has anyone got contact for a Australian supplier? Sick of using wax and pva after seeing how good easylease works. Thanks guys ๐Ÿ‘

You wont be able to get in small quantities is the issue, have to buy it by the gallon. But if you've got a use for it, Trojan Fibreglass are probably your  best bet. They have a couple of the Chemlease products that are very good. You don't NEED the sealer, but they do improve the product performance and I'd recommend it - price is hard to stomach.

CG Composites also had, but they have unfortunately just gone out of business. Places like Lavender and Ironbark have some of the more exotic products, but with a price tag to suit.

Just keep in mind it does have a shelf-life. They generally last longer than quoted if stored properly, but if you are thinking of selling it again - I for one wouldn't pay much for something that is past it's expiry.

Be prepared for a bit of a learning curve switching from PVA and wax. I wouldn't give it a go on anything critical straight up, just try some flat sheet off a glass plate or something and make sure you get the hang of how the chemically released surface is going to behave. Issues like fisheying and pre-release are coming your way, but the rewards are worth the risks!

Yeh for infusion it's great, it will just work. You'll lilely have a bit of trouble if you try to use it to wetlay moulds - not that I'm recommending against this, I do it all the time and it is far superior, but its slip level can catch you out.

For wetlay one can use Chemtrends release agen with less slip. As i only use it for infusion i went with lvl 6 used in combination with their sealer (its still possible to spray geal coat on without fisheye effect?).

System works for meSmile

Definitely follow Hanaldo's advice for products in Australia as he has had years networking and sourcing products for his own use (and helping others) so knows what is what.

Sadly Australia is difficult to ship products classed as "dangerous goods" to easily.  Certainly from the UK the only viable route is palletised sea freight which is only financially viable for very large (palletised) orders and also takes a long time to get there.
