Hi,

I need to make a 90mm diameter tube and I´m thinking use the 80mm sleeve.

My tube have got to be 1.5/2mm thickness , so my question is: is it easy to apply 3 or 4 sleeves, one above the other, in a pvc mandril?

Hi Pedro,

It's no problem to apply multiple layers of the braid over the top of eachother. When you say you will apply them 'in a PVC mandrel' do you mean 'on' a PVC mandrel or do you mean 'in a PVC tube as a mould'? - Mandrels go on the inside you see so I'm just wondering what you intend to do. You'll find laying braid over a mandrel easier that trying to lay multple layers inside a PVC tube. If you do use a PVC mandrel in this way you'll need to ensure you release coat it properly (I would suggest wrapping it in release film) and you'll also probably need to slit and then bend the mandrel to get it out.

I hope this helps.

Matt

Hi, Matt

This is an experience to make a motorcicle exhaust pipe.

I´ve already bought your high temp resin.

My mould is a pvc tube, and i will apply the carbon on the outside.

First i was wondering use cf cloth, but with the sleeve is much easier(and much more expensive).

Doing one way ore another, what method do you advise?

Hi Matt;

I have lots of carbon fiber tube(braid pultrusion molding).

But, I don't know where need that.

The performance is pretty good. Also I have long tube even more than 3m.

Thank you very much.
