Hey guys,
New to the forum.

I have purchased a roll of 2x2 and am curious what your thoughts would be on skinning the underside of my hood. I have a 1987 Camaro IROC-Z. Today, I cut the hood for some TrackSpec Motorsports louvers and then blocked and laid down some epoxy primer.

The underside has open hood bracing with lots of books and crannies. Because the hood is now unable to be used with OEM hood insulation, I want to cover the unsightly hood bracing.

My question is how to ensure the carbon adheres. I know I can go with an epoxy-based skinning basecoat, but will that be enough for it to stay permanently? Or should I consider skinning and then riveting the carbon to the hood bracing after it’s cured?

Also, can I please get a recommendation for a brand of skinning basecoat? I appreciate it in advance!

Kind regards,
Colin
