We are in the process of fitting posts and railings, supporting glass around our recently constructed patio. The posts are bolted to the ceramic patio slabs by drilling 4 holes per post through the 20mm ceramic tiles and a further 100mm into concrete block beneath the ceramic tiles. Into these holes are placed 8mm studding, the post is then placed over the studding and bolted down. The question is, what resin is best to hold these bits of 8mm studding in place in the hole.

Hi Doug,

Is there some reason why you plan to use resin rather than concrete into these holes? I guess it’s because the posts are quite a snug fit into the holes so it’s more of a bonding function than concrete could provide.

There are a number of our resins that could be used but I’d need to check the environmental conditions with you first. Can the work area be kept dry throughout the cure (up to 24hrs) and be maintained at a temperature of >15C throughout?

If you can confirm, I’ll make some recommendations.

All the best, Matt
