Hello fellow compositeers.  I am almost ready to infuse my first project after having spent almost all year on and off constructing my female mould.  It is for a telescope tube, 297mm outer diameter and 1250mm long.  The wall thickness is 5mm.  The layup will be 4 laminates of 210g carbon / 3mm 3D core / 4 laminates of 210g carbon.  If possible I would like the ends to be solid carbon, so the core will be substituted for 12 layers of 210g carbon for about 100mm at each end.

The tube will be infused vertically, and I was just going to use infusion spiral below the base of the composite layers.  No infusion mesh to avoid the resin bypassing the 20 layers at the bottom/top, and the core material will pass the resin in the middle section.

Does this sound like it should work?  I am very receptive to alternatives, I have no prior infusion experience.

Thank you.
