Hello there guys !
I am doing some skinning works with CF and until now I've been using a 2 part black by color brushable adhesive and everything was amazing but now they discontinued the product, so I found myself in a situation. Can someone help me with some alternatives to obtain a perfect bond before using the resin with the parts ?
Some of the parts have shapes(see attached picture) and I really don't want to find myself in a awkward situation finding them with the fabric apart the part at corners the next day. I did a little research but I have found nothing similar to this product I've been using.
Any suggestion is appreciated.
Thank you !
Hanaldo

Is it not similar to Easy Composites black XCR epoxy?

To be honest I don’t really know. I have just checked the XCR description. The one I’ve been using was really sticky when brushed and ussualy it takes 5 6 minutes (20 celsius) per layer to dry out, they recommended 3 layers of adhesive to reach a certain thickness and be sure the fabric will stay there for good. I was using the activator(b part) to make the adhesive sticky again(some kind of short time reactivation). XCR does the same thing ?

No, not by the sounds of it. But it will achieve the same objective of tacking the fabric into place, you will just have to get used to different application techniques.

Watch the Easy Composites XCR skinning video on YouTube, you will see how it works.

In essence you were using an adhesive where as the XCR Black Epoxy Basecoat is very much a liquid resin.  It takes approximately 2 hours to reach the firm but tacky stage, at which point you can apply the fabric.
