Hello, is there an article or experiment about separation films?
In literature, mostly used technique is polyethylene film covering on one side and silicone release paper on the other side. However, I could not find any reason of that usage. Is only one sided separation leads a problem?

You could use teflon impregnated fibreglass fabric (without sticky back side), it will release great from both sides and is also durable/re-usable.

Thank you for your reply. But I would like to learn something else. Is a prepreg roll, which has release liners on each two side, show different characteristic (such as strenght, tackness etc.) from a prepreg roll has a release liner only one side?
Moreover, what should be those release liners? Polyethylene films or silicone release papers? Where can I learn their effects on the structural characteristic?

I did not read any scientific work about it, but I think the main reason two sides are used is that prepregs are often cut on plotter tables, wich need both sides protected to stay relatively clean. And the precuts can be piled easily and don't pick up dirt during the process.
Some prepreg impregnation processes even utilise two separation films, as the resin is worked in the fabric by pressing the prepreg between two rollers several times.

Thank you for sharing your opinions. I agree with you completely. And, I've read a article about that question last week. It was saying; if the prepreg is unidirectional, top side of the prepreg is mostly polyethylene film and the other side is mostly silicone release paper. I am still searching literature for learning that's reason. I communicated some of local prepreg companies and they even do not know that's reason.

For unidirektional prepreg you definitely need the unstickiest surface possible, because it will simply fall apart if you need to much force to peel of the protection.
