When drilling into Carbon or FRP panels. I’m aware that stepping your drill bits up to the size you want will give you clean edges rather than frayed. So beyond that basic step my question is below...

I know there’s charts online, but In your experience, what RPM do you set your drill press to for drilling glass/carbon/Kevlar?

When milling or drilling frp you usually go for the highest possible cutting speed.
And for aramid I try to avoid any post cure machining as it will always produce ugly cutting edges. except for laser and water jet cutting.

Thanks! Thats what I’m attempting to drill, but it was room cure Carbon Kevlar.

Agreed on the aramid thing.

Stepping the bits up gradual to 10mm at 1200 rpm seemed to produce ok edges on the opposite side of the drill head.
