I want to use a ABS edge on my moulded Carbon fibre product - will the epoxy resin and the ABS bond ok and is there any danger of the ABS being melted by the resin?

You need to sand it with a 60 grit paper and then kiss the surface with an open flame from bunsen burner or a torch. You can check how the surface tension changes with a drop of water that forms...

Thanks very much for your information. Could you please explain what the flame process does to the ABS - would a heat gun do the same job - I need to use a heat gun anyway to bend the ABS...

I'm not a chemist and not really qualified to elaborate more on what's going on exactly, but i understand that the surface is oxidizing. I have my doubts that the heat gun is enough heat as all the.....
