As I watch many tutorial videos that end with a demonstration of resistance to bending, I often see the strength being tested by a person standing on their product. This seems so unscientific and I would like to know what standardized tests are used to report on strength characteristics of different layup configurations. I will do some guessing and trials to see how strong is
"strong enough" for my needs, but any data would be helpful as I choose my first second and third stack-up.

Unless you are a large company or university etc then chances are you won't have access to the proper mechanical testing machines that can properly measure tensile strength, bending loads, sheer etc....
