As thread title.

I have some fast hardner in the container it comes in from EC and it has gone dark. I only realised when I had a new set delivered with my infusion resin.

My workshop has a constant 22-23 degrees temp and only on a rack away from sunlight.

Also is ok to mix equal amounts of fast and slow hardner to give me a little more time before my resin gels and not completes full infusion.

Thanks

Hi,

All epoxy resins and all epoxy resin hardeners have a shelf-life. The shelf life of the epoxy resin itself tends to be quite long (2-3 years) but the hardeners are more sensitive and should really be used within 1 year. You will find that the hardeners change colour quite quickly but this doesn't neccessarily mean that they won't work fine, in fact they probably will still be fine. If in doubt, test a small mix of it first.

Also is ok to mix equal amounts of fast and slow hardner to give me a little more time before my resin gels and not completes full infusion.

Yes, definately. You'll see in our bonnet making tutorial video we mix 50/50 AT30 FAST and AT30 SLOW hardeners to effectively create a MEDIUM. You can mix any ratio of these hardeners to achieve whatever reacitivity you need.

I hope this helps,

Best regards, Matt
