Hello!

I have two questions:

I have a vacuum pump and ordered some vacuum bags from easycomposites. But I am not sure how to avoid that the vacuum bag doesn't glue to the surface of the carbon fibre? As I think it is narly impossible that not a drop at all of the resin goes through the carbon fibre. Some advice would be very apreciated.

Another question is how to prepare the part to be clear coated? Stopping with sanding with a 1000 sand papier and then adding the clear cat straight?

Thanks!

The vac bag won't stick to resin, it will just come right off.

As for clear coat, refer to the TDS for the specific product you are using - they are all different.

Hi. As H says the bag won’t stick but you do need to use the peel ply, separater ply and breather ply before the vacuum bag. Watch a couple of the vids on the composites web site. If your new to this do a couple of smaller, simpler shapes first. Learn by your mistakes ( we all make them, just learn by them) and enjoy what you are doing.

Don’t be disappointed by the dull finish when you remove the peel ply, you will be amazed by the way it comes to life with the first coat of resin.
