Hi Peter,
Yes we recommend sealing the wood with a brush coat of resin to stop this happening. Otherwise as the resin soaks into the wood it expels more air which keeps coming out the resin and can cause problems.
Mix up a batch of resin, brush it onto the surfaces to be sealed, then allow to fully cure. Once cured., use sandpaper to give a good key and then clean up any dust or dirt and you are ready for the main pour.
