Hi,
I am a beginner and have done one piece, a small river table. But I have big problems with air bubbles, they will go away when using heat but after  a while they appear again. Can this be the wood piece off-gassing. Do I have to pre-seal the wood. I am using glass 50 and 22 mm in one cast.

Hi Peter,

Yes we recommend sealing the wood with a brush coat of resin to stop this happening.  Otherwise as the resin soaks into the wood it expels more air which keeps coming out the resin and can cause problems.

Mix up a batch of resin, brush it onto the surfaces to be sealed, then allow to fully cure.  Once cured., use sandpaper to give a good key and then clean up any dust or dirt and you are ready for the main pour.
