Hi.
As i understand choosing low density foam(30-50kg/m3) will not save weight as it is more porous and soaks more resin. On the other side choosing high denisty foam(80-100kg/cm3) will not uptake so much resin but the foam weights more. It seems more beneficial to choose higher density as it gives more rigidity. Correct me if my assumption is wrong.
Now, is there something like a "sweet spot" for foam core choice regarding resin uptake considering foam density/strength/rigidity? My priority is light weigh sandwich using 1-shot infusion with hight torsional modulus for a monocoque. I am aiming at Airex(or similar) 10mm core width.
Thanks!
