Hi.
As i understand choosing low density foam(30-50kg/m3) will not save weight as it is more porous and soaks more resin. On the other side choosing high denisty foam(80-100kg/cm3) will not uptake so much resin but the foam weights more. It seems more beneficial to choose higher density as it gives more rigidity. Correct me if my assumption is wrong.
Now, is there something like a "sweet spot" for foam core choice regarding resin uptake considering foam density/strength/rigidity?
My priority is light weigh sandwich using 1-shot infusion with hight torsional modulus for a monocoque. I am aiming at Airex(or similar) 10mm core width.

I used 10m Airex T90 as stiffening ribs on my prepreg carbon car flip front. it has a more open texture when compared to the Airex C70, which I used in the front splitter. Volume wise, foam filler, even the dense stuff, is lighter than resin, so I would, personally, go for the C70. However, my experience is limited so we need Warren to chip in :-)
