Hi,

I baught some SuperSap CLV Clear Epoxy Bio Resin at the start of June, and have used it a few times, and been quite pleased with the results. However when I went to mix up a batch over the weekend the resin part seemed to have turned lumpy, and the viscocity seemed higher than previously.

It looked a bit like it had crystalised partially. I mixed up a batch and it seemed to cure OK but is slightly cloudy. The container has been kept in an unheated garage in the UK but at this time of year I would be supprised if the temperature had been below 12C. Other epoxy I have used has been fine with this kind of storage, even through the winter.

Do you have experiance of the SuperSap beng more suceptable to storage issues than others?

SuperSap can be quite sensitive to the cold so I suspect that is what has happened.  What we recommend is place the tightly sealed resin container into a sink/bucket of very warm water for a few hours, then shake/mix thoroughly.  The excess heat is usually enough to restore the resin back to an even state.

Thanks for the info Warren, I did as you suggested yesterday and the resin went back to normal.

Great; thanks for letting us know. I'm glad that sorted the problem - we have known other resins to crystallise rather mysteriously, sometimes during transport through cold courier depots!
