Perfect reply. Thanks!
I have built many of parts with just 1 x 200g and foam core. Only down side is that the foam can dent when hit or knocked too hard. 2 x 200 would make a big difference to that although x2 material, weight and cost of course. This is why I say use 100kg min. A cork core will dent much easier too.

Cork works just fine for structural applications, as long as it is actual composites cork, not just your run of the mill flooring cork or whatever. There is a difference and it does matter.
You also don't want to use it in an application that would experience much compression, unless your skin can handle that load. So for a single layer of 200g carbon it wouldn't be much good.

Is foam ok for a single 200g skin? I've used it with 2x200g and it's great but was insure on 1x200g.

I would go for a 3mm/4mm foam PVC or acrylic in about 100kg density or higher. (Not 80kg.)
Just perforated foam can work with infusion pretty good.
Love the look of the cork for cosmetic work but it's far too soft and risky for light sandwich panels. It will be flexy and dent easily.

Depends on if you need much compression strength. Corecork is great, but it does have lower strength in compression than other cores. If providing stiffness is all you need, then 1 layer of 200 works fine.
Also be aware that it does print some. But because it doesn't have a regular pattern like Soric, it isn't as noticeable, it just makes the surface look a bit less 'flat'. The reverse side is normally very flat, provided you don't get any bag creases etc.

I'm looking at doing some car body panels which I'd normally lay up with 1x200g / 3mm soric / 1x200g. Thought I might look into other cores as the general consensus is that soric can be a little heavy. The reverse side finish is also quite poor as the cells show through quite strongly. I've been considering core cork as an option as it looks pretty smooth on both sides. For those that have used it can I ask id 1x200g would be enough of a skin with this core? Any others I should consider?
Thanks in advance for the input folks.
