a 1500mm x 650mm x 50mm sheet of epoxy block is roughly 3-400quid and the equivalent in ali would be a few grand at least.

Isn't Aluminium cheaper than tooling board?

Well you know better than I do, but usually epoxy tooling block is good for between 6 -10 parts, you can use it more times but it depends on who's breaking the parts out and if you are cutting on the tool

I've had a few small tooling block moulds made recently, and with the cost compared to an ali mould it would be cost effective on an A4 sized billet about 40-50mm thick  to have an ali tool made after 20 or so parts.

We need to chat too, got a few things on in the pipeline and I need to get setup properly.

To save me having to stress the grey matter has anyone got any figures on the breakdown where small/medium sized an fairly simple moulds cnc,d in Ali are cost affective over tooling block/carbon moulds

Rough mental arithmetic looks like 25plus parts would make the Ali more cost effective
