Hi All

I've used Airpad several times for tooling and curing applications using prepreg in the laminate to add a bit of strength, however I now have a component that needs some impact protection and durability for a sports application.

I have used Kraibon material for such an application as you can incorporate it into the laminate, but we dont have any material in stock so I was hoping to use airpad instead although im scared it might delam.

Has anyone used Airpad inside a laminate? If so did it work and how many plies of carbon did you have on the surface layer?

Cheers

Not used it but cant you beg, borrow or steal some smac rubber, or one of the generic copies ?

should give you what your looking for and you know its going to stick like the perverbial to the carbon

cheers rob,
I will see if i can get some of that rubber material, ive been given some airpad and also a roll of SVPP called Tegris which i will try out in the laminate. Never used it before but it looks pretty good for intrusion and side impact protection.
