I have been asked bu a customer to make a fibreglass shelf for a gridwall display
now since its a one off I was thinking about using pieces of perspex to make a makeshift mould now I am using polyester resin and gel so I want to know will the perspex react to the gel and will it release ok with a good finish on the part
Will it work or has anyone got any better ideas

You
could
try the perspex and polyester resin, it would be a good learning experience...
But seriously, DON'T, it will react with polyester resin and you'll end up with a big blob of bin fodder.
You can use perspex and epoxy resin.
Depending on how big they are, a pane of glass works well and is nonreactive to polyester resin
