I have a mould for a 7 type nosecone that has had its day so I need to make a new mould 

I have been pulling parts from it hoping that I may be able fettle and gelcoat repair one but the front edge of the mould is in poor shape

this is what pulls from the mould Most of the part pulls with a nice finish

i have been looking at the patten coatings so my question is should i sand and getcoat filler the edge and flog that horse or sand fill then spray pattern coat
