Is there nothing securing the fender to the front bumper or headlight? Lip around the inside of the wheel arch? Those 2 areas would give you a lock for sure.
I would be making this a split mould on the top edge of the guard, so as you said about the mounting surface in the engine bay. Doing it like this not only guarantees that you will get a release, but it also makes the entire flanging job a bit less tricky. You may be able to do it in one piece, but you would need to put more thought into how you flange it.

Yea the part that goes behind the is tight is that part needed though as it doesn't bolt there

I may be wrong but I believe that part is made in 1 piece, but the part where it goes behind by the door I think it too much of an angle to make it out of 1 piece. Maybe yours doesnt do that, its hard to tell from the pics

Sorry yet another question I do try and look up the answer on the net before asking
But the front wings on a car are the moulds done in one or 2 piece
I thought where they bolt inside the engine bay would have to be done separate but might be wrong?
