Hi,

I'm not making anything from carbon fibre, I just stopped by to see if anyone has any experience or advice to offer on using the epoxy coating resin to finish electric guitar bodies specifically, but I guess any sort of wooden artifact.

I have a few guitar builds in the pipeline that will be made from fairly porous spalted beech, so I figured a good solid epoxy might perform better than the usual spray on clear coats.  This is just an off-cut of unfinished wood I've been using for test purposes.

I read in the product description, "Each layer of resin will also make a perfectly clear transition to the next meaning that multiple layers can be built up whilst still preserving excellent clarity," but I subsequently found in the FAQ, "Our epoxy coating resin is designed more to be a tough coating rather than an optically clear glossing resin," so I'm interested to see how clear it actually is.  I'm hoping it doesn't colour the wood too much.

It'll be a few weeks before I get to this stage, but I'll be sure to stop by with some pictures once I'm done.

Cheers,
Jez
