Shrink tape wrinkles

Group: Forum Members Posts: 20, Visits: 235	I think that is just inherent of using shrink tape, you get the wrinkles/creases from when it overlaps. Don't know what you have for equipment, but I just switched vacuum bagging the tube. I wrap it once with a perforated release tab and then breather cloth. I haven't perfected the bagging process yet, so it still requires some sanding afterwards, but I'm definitely much happier with it than with the heat shrink. If you are sticking with the heat shrink, are you maintaining heat on it, or just with a heat gun? I've noticed that once the tape cools it un-shrinks a little.

Group: Forum Members Posts: 468, Visits: 3.5K	Sometimes with too much laminate thickness you can get a compression type wrinkle in the laminate but this is more to do with too much laminate and not really a fault of the tape. Wet layups compress much more than a pre preg material will. Fastacraft Facebook page
