Hi all!
Just demoulded my first infusion from Unimould split-mould...
Despite a microscopic leak in the envelope bag, the part turned out close to perfect.. No visible pinholing in any of the "usable" areas

Only real problems are the "seam" at the split in the mould (should have done a better job when making the flange for the split) and that my spread tow stripe shifted sideways when laying up the bottom layers, peel-ply, mesh and bag ..

The Spread Tow stripe has nice lines to the two sides (EC 240 gsm "specialist twill") made possible by spraying the back side of the "tow" with Cytec and letting it dry before cutting with EC Scissors..
The total "stack" is: 240 gsm "specialist" twill + 300 gsm Biaxial + 300 gsm Satin (reinforced in strategic places with 300 Satin "off-cuts" ..
The whole "flange" + large parts of the front and rear was cut off before use. Final part = 804 grams ..
Pics of the finished and painted part to follow ..
The Plug was an original tank that had been crash damaged -- hammered out, filled, EC Pattern Primer-coated, then High Gloss -
I was in a bit of a hurry, so the mould was made from start to finish in 24 hours ... (They needed the "pattern" as a "temporary cover" to go racing in Sweden

)
"Sapere Aude"... Dare to KNOW!
