Hi
Yesterday i really hammered the carbon lip on my front bumper, and it is really annoying.
Now i want to repair this myself, but i hope someone here can help me in the right direction.
If you look at the pictures you can see how the damage is.
Now my plan is to sand the whole lip down with 120grain wet sandpaper untill it seems even.
Then ill use a brush and apply epoxy laminating resin with a brush over the sanded area.
After this ill let the resin harden and then and it down with 800 and 1200 wet sandpaper.
Will this work and can i expect the reults to be pretty good?
Should i use anything to clean of the lip before applying the resin?
Any help appreciated

depending on how much you have tosand back you might get away with floodcoating of a 2k lacquer, rather than using resin as you will have to sand that back then polish to get a nice finsih

At some parts i see right through to the carbon fibre, so all the resin is worn off.
This means i have to use resin right?

Sand, fill any deep bits with epoxy then lacquer.
It's non structural so don't worry about it too much, the white scars will go once you've sanded and lacquered

When you say lacquer, what product do you mean?
Could you point me to one type of lacquer product?
In my head the epoxy resin would both fill and once properly sanded and buffet it would get a nice clear surface.

Yup, its for UV protection and also allows you to control the finish a bit more, gloss/satin etc...
For your project, rattle can lacquer from Halfords or similar car part store would suffice
