Laptop died, got a new laptop, plugged phone into laptop, phone died. It has been an expensive week...
OK well Part came out of the mold good and it was a nice easy cut. I have a dremel 4000 with the easy lock blades; I think it is powerful enough to do most car parts, or maybe a small boat. It has variable speed so it can be adjusted.
Anyhow here’s the part popped out, I use 1x1 twill for the inner 2 layers. This part is ways to complex for that type of weave; I ended up putting more cuts in the fabric of those layers that I would have liked to. Well this is a test part and it has alot of curves making pretty dang stiff for only 3 layers.
Then here's what I need to adjust next time; I keep letting cf clippings get in the surface of my part! Then I need to start positioning the cf on the most visible side. I started on the back where it is facing the glass, I should have started on the side facing inside car. When working with complex parts the weave tends to look better where you started taping/positioning then where you finish.

Second TRY:
On this run I was sure not to let any pieces fall under the part, I basically did half flipped it up to check under then folder it back down and taped quickly, watching every little snip I took. Also I made the CF fabric much smaller, there’s just no need to have that much excess. What started as a 24” x 16” has been reduced to a 19”x10”. I know it’s hard to see now but when I pull this part you will see the size difference.

I am battling 3 small pinholes on the part I cut out, not in the corners or across the whole part, I think it is just 3 tiny air bubbles that surfaced when prepping my part for lacquer. Can I just put wax or black crayon in these? There soo small, really, a pin hole!

Also will this work as a UV coating or am I throwing this over the hill? My challenge is I bought the spray lacquer, don have an air compressor or gun yet BUT I’m making little parts one at a time, I need lacquer in an aerosol can, this may be it. This is gona suck if I have to fire up the cup gun every time I want to UV protect.

Thanks for reading, please someone help me find aresol UV Laquer, if this is not it.
ONE last question: this laquer, has slightly uneven surface, do I need to apply laquer a bit thicker than paint? Howmany coats would you use? sand inbetween? how do you get your final glow? A compund buff?
If Brute Force Isn''''t working your not using enough...
