i haven't been doing yet a mate/satin finish.

is there a special release agent for mate/satin finish or just wet-send without polishing?
if only sending which grit 1500 or less ?

but is it durable, or first mud will leave marks?

I have done quite a few parts in "satin finish" by wet sanding to 1000 and then used ordinary wax release... no problems with demoulding...

Normally I just wet sand the part after release for m a polished mould, then polish with coarse compound, and use wax on top..

Seems to be just as durable as any satin clear coat, especially when using GC50 gelcoat ..
