Hi,

The closest ID~=OD (0.2mm) of your roll wrapped tube selection is 32.0mm (ID) / 34.8mm (OD)-(Inner tube) to 35mm (ID) / 37.8mm (OD) (Clamping sleeve). The plan is to cut a 2mm slot into the clamping sleeve and key in (with glue to adhere) m4 cf lugs that provide the clamping force. I have two possible approaches:

-Use the two tubes stated above and run the risk of being an extremely tight or loose fit (Manufacturing Tolerance=Inner Diameter: +/- 0.2mm:::Outer Diameter: +/- 0.3mm) therefore removing the advantage of using these two pipes. If both pipes are on opposite ends of the tolerance spectrum the risk is by the time sufficient clamping force is achieved by the clamping sleeve the sleeve has constricted too much thereby structurally damaging the cf matrix.

-Use the same tube (32.0mm (ID) / 34.8mm (OD)) as both the inner and outer and risk straining the sleeve getting it on and off.

What option should i take?

Is it possible for easycomposites member of staff to test the fit on a current batch? and provide me with those details so i can make an informed decision.

Either option will work fine.  We normally would recommend not slotting the ends but purely bonding tube to tube rather than clamping.

When it comes to order, please ring us or put a note on the order and we will happily check that the batch at time of ordering slide into each other.

I have checked the current batch and the fit is tight, but as above check at time of purchase as we sell a lot of tubes so batches will change.
