It just won't work as well as you want it to. 3M Dual Lock works perfectly!

Good idea, hadn't even thought of that! So is it not a good or bad idea idea to make the carbon angle - probably wet laid? make it thick (5mm or so) and try sand/cut it down to match the latch? seems a little tedious I know but that doesn't bother me

Some carbon angle will give you the one thats just a bracket. The other one seems to have some sort of latch / tab on it so I'm not sure on that one I'm afraid. When I faced this dilema I switched attatchment method and used velcro!

Hi everyone,
Long time lurker here. Have been following these forums for a while and have been slowly learning lots of things from everyone.
I have all of the equipment for vacuum infusion and decided to take the plunge and have a go. For my first project i'm keeping it small - my car has these terrible looking plastic trim bits that are hydro-dipped with a carbon fibre pattern. so naturally I want to make them of real carbon fibre!
The shape is very simple (I think makes a great first project), the only problem I'm having is coming up with a way to make the mounting tabs on the back of the piece. see photo links down below
Does anyone have any suggestions please?
