hi ,i have a small whole the size of a match head in a no 7 section so one of the bigger sections, how would you suggest to repair ? as the instructions only seem relevant to a broken or crushed section or would you repair the same ? many thanks .......i have the carbon pole repair kit.

Yes you can repair in exactly the same way.  In effect a hole is still a weakness in the tube just on one side rather than a more serious crush type damage.
