Hi All,

Live in England, London, new to the composite, pattern, mould making world.

Have been around for a few months reading and watching threads develop.

My first project is learning about making small moulds, taking a mould and producing simple trays for viewing samples.
Start to Finish video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7VuyIxMnrI

Now moving onto the big project building of a body package for my kitcar Daxro (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCr-RQnBLtj2a7y2PPgjiCew/videos)

Any help advice would be much appreciated

Welcome, lots of helpful people and info on here. Nice project you have there, always been a fan of the Dax. I believe the whole Dax project is up for sale?. I do quite a few parts for the kitcar market, cycle wings, dashboards etc. Look forward to seeing your project evolve.

Hi wozza

I bought some "Dax Carbon Fibre" wings, dashboard, and other bodywork about 6 months ago had to send it all back quality was so bad.

Think I found easy composites about one month after sending it all back.

Lets see if I can do any better in me garage Wink

Are those from the factory or aftermarket? Whats the plan, wet lay + vac bag or infusion. Looking at the air pockets they look like wet lay, not even bagged.

They where from the Dax Harlow Factory, I was very disappointed when I unpacked them.

I was thinking infusion now I have the large pump and degassing chamber.

The moulds I have planned so far, will start a thread in projects -> motorsport vehicle design and mods.
Each mould will have the left and right sides, to keep the amount of moulds at a minimum.

1) Door Base.
2) Door Rear (quarter panel)
3) Door Outer skin.
4) Door Inner skin.
5) Window support with built in door hinge

# Unplanned
6) Window Top Loop (with t top connection)
7) Roof (with flip up door taking inspiration from donkervoort http://www.donkervoort.com/ but much simpler)
