Hi,

Aramid rapidly degraded by uv light (not only the color;  strengh and stiffness decreases too).

Has "black Twaron"  the same limitations?

I think I know waht you mean................but does a "UV stable" (clear) resin also filter/reflect the UV?  I didn´t think so. A colored painting (or colored resin) would help, but thats not what I want.
The basic problem (Question: Has Black Twaron the same UV sensitivity as "yellow" aramid?)  is still the same.

P.s. Sorry for my English.

Hi, a little more information as to your application may help. Poly resin will give good UV protection without the need for additional protection. Epoxy resin will require a clear gelcoat like GC50 or an automotive clear coat applied to the finished part.
I think the resin/ clear coat type will have a greater bearing on UV protection than the properties of the reinforcement.
Having said that black is always going to absorb UV more than lighter colours. How are you curing your parts, air cure, oven cure, any post curing?

Twaron is a brand name for a Aramid fibre, so like other aramid fibres is (without additional protection or additives) succeptable to UV degredation wether dyed black or yellow in colour.
