Looking good so far. Can't wait to see the molding process and the finished part. Haha. My name is Brett too. Thanks bud, to be honest I am pressing on trying to get most things ready for moulding and then i was gonna ring the EC team for a bit of advice on the front mould, I want the whole front to be 1 piece, so not sure if to just do the whole thing or do it in a few separate pieces? we will see

So a bit more work on the car today, this time we have tried to stay to the same products and techniques shown on the EC videos. we are now trying to attach the bumper to the car and get the front wings matched up to the front arches. After mounting the whole lot on a pallet we got all the jigsaw pieces together, but there were some big gaps between the wings were we cut them and the arches. So me and brett have been using core material to fill the gaps and sand these down. Were hoping tomorrow we will get to skim with filler and move straight on to using high build primer.

Thanks for the advice, I spoke to the guys at Easy comps and we have a plan!!  we sprayed a few plates up with the paint we have used, we are going to try chemical release compound on one plate, wax on another plate and a chemical release and wax on another. We will see which gives the best release and go with that method, if these are not sucessful we will try the pva method. After the trials we are going to try the boot panel and do our first mould, really looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

I think you will get a release fine, I've done a few moulds of parts that I didn't realise had been painted with 1k paint. They came out of the mould fine, but some of the paint stuck to the mould. It essentially destroyed the plug because it would be a lot of work to get it back, but I just cleaned the paint off the mould with acetone and then polished it back to a glossy surface.If this is what happens to us I will be happy, all of the parts were using for the moulds will be no longer required once we get the moulds made…… can't wait to get started!!  Definitely the best advice I can give is to spray the plugs with PVA release agent. I still get a release when I wipe the PVA on with the cloth, but it's a lot of work to clean the mould up. When I spray it, the part doesn't really release any easier but I've had a few parts painted with 1k where the plugs and moulds were perfect.
