Group: Forum Members Posts: 16, Visits: 122	Hello everybody, I contact you for a few problems about a carbon kevlar tray I ve made URL=http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/707/40791410150587709709216.jpg/][/URL] My first problem is for me a real nightmare: tiny bubbles: I eliminated a lot them by using resin infusion (but not all of them) and using bristle roller but to have a perfect finish, I don't see any other way than to varnish (if there is an other possibility please let me know) So I would like to know how to make this perfectly, what products do you use (I didn't see them on your shop) and the application method to have a perfect gloss finish . For my second question, I've done this tray with 2 layers of carbon kevlar and with 2 of red traced carbon ^^ in the middle but it's too flexible specially on the flat part. I would like to know if it's possible for a next one to make it more stiff by putting a kevlar cross in the middle of the reinforcement layers Throughout the flat part and if it will be (for just one kevlar layer) visible on the exterior of the tray? Or if is it possible to make the tray for stiff by an other way (curing?) cheaper than to put 2 or 3 more carbon reinforcement layers. I tested the vacuum 2 days long, I had a little air leak of 0.01 bar max in 4hours, that I hope I have been able to fill. I have done 50% fast harderer / 50% slow to accelerate the process and limit the damages if I didn't. He's composed of 2 layers of bleu carbon for the exterior and 2 Fiber glass layers for the reinforcement. The infusion looked good, the resin was degassed on open air but when the resin has reached the catch pot, il remained bubbles visibles on the infusion mesh... so instead of the recommended 2/3 seconds, I waited a little more (I had a lot of resin mixed by security so I could) but when I've cut the feed line andd just then (5/10sec) the vacuum line, it still remained bubbles in the infusion mesh (mooving in vacuum direction, not stoped) I precise... is it normal? Would I expect that the infusion mesh was free of any bubble? When, once demoulded, I still have bubbles, only on the edges but really smaller and fewer at earlier. Most of them are not in the final part but in the losses. I had the impression to have well pressed the infusion mesh on the edge so I think i m on the good way but a little more help will be welcome. I finish with the pictures (as you ll see, the tray is not cutted yet)
