sure it can, but as always you will need a proper mold. search youtube for a user
WJP004
--he is in australia and has tons of racer oriented
tutorials for making things .he has one addressing the filter box and cold air intake even. and no, it is not cf work on a work of art scale but he makes things
that are useful and work. i suggest him particularly because of your question and subject matter is expressly addressed by him.

I have to agree with you Matt.
He is clever and having fun and does produce parts that work but the quality and craftsmanship is as crude as the Flintstones car.
Race guys like that are all go and not much show. I tend to be the opposite. Neither is right or wrong. But I have a hard time watching.

Thanks guys. I looked but couldn't see the airbox video? While I'm not expecting F1 style results, I would like it to look respectable.

well i do agree. i am also a perfectionist, and i get from his videos the idea to experiment and dont hold back. my trade is all perfectionist type of work, so
for me it is not out of bounds to insist on a high level of quality.whether it be a mold or even a fiberglass part. or even a repair, what we do in life matters
and what we do for our work matters greatly. i would not want kitchen cabinets and cupboards from a carpenter who did anything less than the absolute best he can.
and LOL yes fred flintstone
but hey we gotta start somewhere i guess.
still he is a nice guy and all i think.
but i still go and look at many things, gleaning any useful bit of information i can use.
