Epoxy, do you need to add catalyst

Hey guys let see if you can help me, I am trying to skinned a product, with carbon firbre, I was told to add catalyst to epoxy. Do this really needed? what is the sense of adding catalyst to epoxy if the epoxy is a laminar glue

It's a slight subtle difference in the chemistry.  It is worth people understanding.  With a catalyst based reaction, you can to an extent control pot life/cure times by varying the catalyst quantity (subject to adding the minimum obviously).

Where as with a non-catalyst based resin such as epoxy, varying the quantities of "hardener" or "part B" won't speed up the cure, it will just leave you with uncured resin in the laminate.
