I have no-one to blame but myself. I didn´t read the instructions properly when I bought theUni-Mould system.

Now I have all I need exept for the catalyst. And googling MEKP in Swedish gets you absolutely nowhere. Any ideas for what places might sell that type of catalyst? Slightly desperate for help.

Cheers /Zach

Hi Zach,

We will be adding it to our range very soon to stop this problem... however in the mean-time if you google for fibreglass materials suppliers you should find somewhere local that does it, it is the same catalyst as is used for normal polyester fibreglass (GRP) layups, it's full name is Methyl ethyl ketone peroxide if that helps at all!

There's a company called Sergis who make the stuff, their european head-quarters is in Sweden, you could give them a call I'm sure they could tell you who sells it near to you here's the link:

Hope this helps!

I found a catalyst (or hardener as it´s called here), but it contains BenzoylPeroxide and Diisobutylftalat, nothing which sounds like any part of MEKP (exept for the peroxide). But it is sold as catalyst for Polyester, would that work?

Yes that should work fine the chemicals you listed are commonly used for dilutants for MEKP solutions, I'm sure that will be the right stuff, obviously give it a test first but you shoudl be fine.

I'm in the same case than Zek, received my stuff yesterday but i did not notice there was no catalyst shipped with it.... So thanks for precisions about the "different" catalysts.

I found two different types of polyester catalyst today, got home and made two moulds, one with each to see which one (or both) will work.
Stores that sell boatsupplies generally have that stuff. I guess it helps if you live on the coast, but in abscence of boatstores any company dealing in fiberglass should have it.

Well I'm pretty lucky on that, there's a composite manufacturer at 20 mins from my house. He agrees on selling catalyst to me (and 150 g/sqm mat too).
